Privacy Policy
Karaoke Mic · Effective 31 July 2026
1. Controller and contact details
The controller responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy is Baston Apps ("we", "us", "our"), an independent software developer established in Türkiye.
All privacy enquiries, including requests to exercise the rights described in clause 9, should be sent to support@bastonapps.com.
This policy applies to the Karaoke Mic application for iOS (the "Application") and to this website. It does not apply to the practices of Apple, Google, or any other third party, which are governed by their own policies.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"), the UK GDPR, or the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK") applies to you, this policy is intended to satisfy the respective information obligations.
2. Audio and microphone data
Audio captured by the microphone is not recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device. It is processed in memory in real time and played back to the audio output you have selected, and is then discarded. The Application contains no recording feature, no upload mechanism, and no server to which audio could be sent.
The Application derives a numerical measure of signal level from the incoming audio many times per second. This measure drives the on-screen level indicator, the noise gate, and the detection of acoustic feedback. It exists only in volatile memory for the duration of the audio session and is neither stored nor transmitted.
iOS requires your permission before the Application may access the microphone. Permission may be withdrawn at any time in Settings → Karaoke Mic → Microphone.
The microphone is active only while the Application is in the foreground. The Application does not declare the background audio capability, so the audio session ends when the Application is backgrounded or the device is locked.
Where audio from another application is playing, iOS combines it with the microphone signal on the output path. The Application has no access to that audio, cannot identify its content, and is not informed of its source.
3. Personal data processed
3.1 Advertising data
Where you do not hold an active Premium subscription, the Application displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. In that context Google may process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), technical device information such as device model and operating system version, an approximate location inferred from your IP address, and information about your interaction with advertisements.
Purpose: selection, delivery, measurement, and frequency capping of advertising, and prevention of fraudulent activity.
Legal basis: your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the corresponding provisions of KVKK. Consent is obtained through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and, where the framework applies, through a consent form presented by Google's certified consent management platform. Where consent for personalised advertising is not given, advertising is served on a non-personalised basis and your advertising identifier is not used for targeting.
Under Apple's App Store rules this processing constitutes tracking, and it is declared as such in the Application's App Store privacy disclosures as Device ID and Advertising Data, collected for third-party advertising and not linked to your identity.
3.2 Subscription and purchase data
Where you purchase a Premium subscription, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive or have access to your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to determine whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat assigns your installation a randomly generated anonymous identifier and processes the associated transaction and entitlement status received from Apple.
Purpose: verifying entitlement, making paid features available, and enabling restoration of a purchase on another device.
Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are party, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
3.3 Consent records
Where a consent form is presented under Google's consent management platform, your response is recorded so that it can be applied on subsequent launches and so that you may reopen and change it.
Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation, under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, namely the obligation to demonstrate that valid consent was obtained.
3.4 Settings stored on your device
Your selected voice character and its parameters, microphone sensitivity, output level, echo reduction setting, screen-awake preference, haptics preference, selected application icon, whether the introduction has been completed, and whether a rating prompt has been shown are stored locally on your device.
This information remains on your device, is not transmitted to us or to any third party, is not accessible to us, and is removed when the Application is deleted.
4. Data we do not process
We do not collect, and have no means of collecting:
- recordings of your voice, or audio of any kind;
- your name, email address, postal address, or telephone number;
- contacts, photographs, calendar entries, or health data;
- precise geolocation data;
- any advertising data at all where you hold an active Premium subscription, as the advertising software is not initialised in that case.
We operate no analytics service, crash reporting service, or social network software development kit, and we maintain no user accounts.
5. Recipients and third parties
The following third parties process personal data in connection with the Application. Each acts as an independent controller in respect of the data it receives, under its own privacy policy:
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC — advertising delivery and measurement, and consent management. Privacy policy · How Google uses data from partner apps
- RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription entitlement verification. Privacy policy
- Apple Inc. and Apple Distribution International Ltd. — distribution of the Application and processing of payments. Privacy policy
We do not sell personal data. We do not disclose personal data to any other recipient except where required to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
6. International transfers
We are established in Türkiye and hold no personal data ourselves, so there is no transfer of data by us. The third parties identified in clause 5 operate internationally and may transfer data outside your country of residence, including to the United States, under the transfer mechanisms set out in their own policies, which for transfers from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Retention
We retain no personal data, and therefore have nothing to erase on request. Settings stored on your device persist until you delete the Application. Data held by the third parties identified in clause 5 is retained in accordance with their own published retention policies, over which we have no control.
8. Security
Because audio is processed only in memory and no personal data is transmitted to or stored by us, the principal safeguard is architectural: there is no repository of user data to compromise. Data transmitted between the Application and the third parties identified in clause 5 is protected in transit by those parties using transport-layer encryption.
9. Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you have the right to request access to personal data concerning you, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of its processing, and its portability; to object to processing; and, where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. If you are in Türkiye, the rights set out in Article 11 KVKK apply to you.
Because the Application maintains no account and we hold no identifying information, we are generally unable to identify you from a request, and the effective controls available to you are:
- Tracking permission. Change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or disable tracking for all applications.
- Advertising consent. Where the consent framework applies to you, reopen the consent form from Settings → Privacy choices in the Application and change your response.
- Advertising identifier. Reset it in iOS, which severs the association with any previously collected advertising data.
- Premium subscription. While a subscription is active, the advertising software is not initialised, no advertising request is made, and no identifier is shared.
- Deletion. Deleting the Application removes all locally stored settings.
Requests concerning data held by Google, RevenueCat, or Apple should be directed to those parties using the contact details in their policies. You may address a request to us at support@bastonapps.com, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law, including where our response is that the data you have asked about is not data we hold.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of an alleged infringement. In Türkiye the competent authority is the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu).
10. Children
The Application is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area, and is not submitted to the App Store Kids Category. We do not knowingly process personal data relating to such children. If you believe that a child has provided personal data in connection with the Application, please contact us so that we can assist.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Application, to the third parties it relies on, or to applicable law. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly, and material changes will be identified in the Application's App Store release notes.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about any processing described in it, may be sent to support@bastonapps.com.
