MassFrame

Fastest fix for the usual three

  • Weigh-in not showing? Open the app after weighing — it reads Apple Health when it comes to the front.
  • Progress photo could not be read? Waist up, square to the camera, in a fitted top, facing the light.
  • Meal could not be read? Shoot from above, the whole plate in frame, in good light.

Where is my notebook?

On your phone, in the app, and nowhere else. There is no account and no server copy, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing to sync. It is included in your iPhone backup like any other app's data, and Take it all with you in Settings exports the whole notebook to a file — every table, every set and reading as a spreadsheet, and your photographs as they were taken.

Is it free?

Yes. Nothing in the app is for sale, and every feature, including the readings, is free while we are testing.

Apple Health isn't filling anything in

Why can't I type my body fat?

Because nobody knows their body fat on a given day without something to measure it. It comes from your progress photos, read by the app, or from Health when a scale or scan wrote it — and the app says which, under the number.

Meals

Photograph a meal on any day's plate and it is read: each food it can see, a portion, and the calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat in it, added up against your daily targets. A photograph cannot weigh anything, so treat the numbers as a close estimate. If a meal is read wrongly, delete it and photograph it again from above in better light. Up to twelve meals a day can be read. Your targets, and how they are worked out, are under Nutrition in Settings, where you can also set your own.

The photograph could not be read

The report says what went wrong, and each has a fix: no one found in the frame, too dark, too far, or too much covered. Stand square to the camera with your upper body in frame, waist up is enough, face a window or a lamp, and wear something fitted — loose clothing hides the outline the reading needs. Then try again from the day's check-in.

It asked before sending my photograph

Once for progress photos and once for meals, because those are the only moments anything leaves your phone: the photograph goes through a relay we run to a model at OpenAI, and the reading comes back. Nothing is kept on our side. You can turn either off at any time in Settings — Read photographs off this phone and Read meal photographs off this phone — and the privacy policy says exactly what is sent and who sees it.

The six-month picture

Draw me six months on in the progress report sends the same photograph with your six-month figures and comes back with a picture of you as you may look then. It usually takes under a minute. It is a drawing from your photograph and your numbers — not a promise, not a prediction, and never medical. If the model declines to draw from a photograph, the page says so; fitted training clothes, your upper body in frame and plain light give it the best chance.

How do I delete everything?

Erase at the foot of Settings removes the whole notebook, photographs included, permanently. Deleting the app does the same. There is no copy anywhere to ask us to delete.
